Hi guys, (Note that it never sent me any replies via e-mail, so I switched off from digest, not sure if that will help or not! So I'm just manually quoting / replying here from the online archive.)

The floppy currently "only" has 83 files. ;-) Some of that is truly unnecessary but niceties. I have all sources, just need to pack 'em up. Won't take too long, but I still feel foolish without trying everything I can think of first. I was just wondering if the error message rang any bells with anyone or someone had any ideas. But if you, cm, really want to test, I can hurry up and do that. (As far as I know, everything is latest version, but I didn't look too too closely. Due to various hardware issues over the years, this is yet another different computer which lacks most of my files. So I had to download from scratch anyways. Most of it is from the iBiblio mirror.) But I would ideally like to know what's wrong first. No sense in sending something that's broken! I did put (most) of the files on the HD, booted from floppy, but still get an error. I need to reboot and (yet again) try kernel 2037. (Fun fun fun.) If THAT doesn't work, I dunno, then I need to back and check my older RUFFIDEA abominat^H^H^H^H distro, and see how I did it there. (But I didn't include COUNTRY.SYS there, should've been put on disk #2, oops. Of course, that doesn't help Esperantujo anyways.) I did a fairly clean boot (via F8, disabling almost everything) and that still didn't help. So yeah, it's some bug or out-of-order loading thing (or I guess could still be my fault, indirectly). To my incompetent eyes, it vaguely looks like a problem with KEYB. But I didn't want to email everybody off-list, since that is frowned upon. So I haven't contacted Aitor directly. Probably best, I need to figure it out myself anyways (if possible). FreeDOS KEYB 2.00 - (c) Aitor SantamarĂa Merino - GNU GPL 2.0 ("Taurus") Second generation keyboard driver for FreeDOS KEYB EXE 11,148 08/29/06 9:01p Hmm, the KEYBOARD.SYS etc. files are all dated 2009. Not sure if or why that would break anything, but you never know. > (ea): Jumping to 0:0 could mean a pointer/handler is used before being set. I didn't literally mean 0000:0000, I just couldn't remember the (random) numbers offhand anyways. I did try again later, see below: (HIMEMX): Invalid Opcode at 15B8 0B4D 7006 4343 0000 0004 02C2 6122 5C3A 613B 5C3A 6466 736F (JEMM386): Jemm386: exception 06 occured at CS:EIP=0B66:000015B8, ERRC=00000000 SS:ESP=11AF:00001D3E EBP=00012046 EFL=00037006 CR0=80000011 CR2=00000000 EAX=075E0000 EBX=00110001 ECX=0000000A EDX=F800000A ESI=00011D34 EDI=0011095A DS=10ED ES=0B66 FS=E90D GS=F000 [CS:IP]=0F 00 00 A0 A0 05 03 07 Press ESC to abort program P.S. This is what I get for not truly using or testing all this stuff enough, heh. Can't help it, the U.S. is a monolingual country (7-bit ASCII ftw!). My only excuse for bothering at all is my E-o knowledge, which is fairly complete (don't need no stinkin' dictionary) but vaguely rusty. I haven't read anything major in a few years. :-/ Guess I should re-read my books: La Komedio de Eraroj, Reghido de Danujo, La Sankta Biblio, ktp. ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Freedos-user mailing list Freedos-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
