I have some problems to install freedos on a laptop Compaq presario 1245

The hard disk is 5736 Mb
I made a 502 Mb partition for DOS and remaining used on Linux and Linux Swap
grub installed on the second partition and running well.
The second partition has linux installed with grub.

- Using CD 1.0 setup is impossible to install the system and get a
booting system.
adding the freedos as grub entry dont boot, allways said that is not
a boot disk.

- Booting from CD I tried "sys c:" and the command don't worked because sys
can't find "kernel.sys"

- Using "dir /s kernel.sys" I find a copy of that file on the cd.

- Executed "sys c:" from that folder worked OK. Finally I can boot
from my grub with chainload...

- After boot I noted that the keyboard have problem. Writing "dir" I
get "diir" and the command dont executes well (so the problem is not
in the screen). going back and erasing the reamining i the command
executes well. I have similar behavior with all the vowels that
appear twice and some special characters that appear combined with a
different char. For example pressing "/" appear "-/"

¿Suggestions?
