Maybe, the answer is easier than I think, my problem is that I want to
upgrade the FreeDOS kernel.
I have downloaded the zip file (ke2039_86f32.zip
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/freedos/files/Kernel/2039/ke2039_86f32.zip/download>)
but I can find an installer!! I just find a couple of bat files to
install the system in a floppy drive which I don't have anymore...
Any of the .sys files can be renamed to KERNEL.SYS and then placed into
C:\ , most likely overwriting your previous kernel. It's a simple
drop-in-replacement (if you got an older FreeDOS kernel).
you can confirm the new kernel works by either looking at the startup
messages from kernel, or by typing VER /R
