Puppy Linux is a very good condidate to make a FreeDOS over Linux distribution.
This will make FreeDOS much more usefull and probably more interesting. The idea is to boot Linux, then run Dosemu and then FreeDOS as deault front end. Without any X :) An even simpler Linux would be better... just kernel+busybox. With the advantage that having no X, the video hardware is 100% available for DOS programs (but will need real drivers). Of course that would require some Linux skills. I use everyday FreeDOS+Dosemu and it works *very* well...
