FreeDOS (kernel=2038fat16, freecom=082pl3) reports a wrong
(about 10% actual) size for a EMS ramdisk created with
Frank Uberto FU_RD v.19i.
Running CHKDSK on this disk reports a large number
of lost chains.
After some use, the dir command returns garbage,
albeit the files put in are still there and can be
accessed by their names.
Use of JemmEX or JEMM386+HIMEM to provide EMS does
not make any difference.
I think this is not a bug in EMSDSK, for I did use
it almost daily for about one year under DRDOS 5.0
without a glitch and, while my tests under MSDOS 5.0
were much more limited, there has been so far no
problem, too.
FreeDOS kernel 2036 did not yet show the dir problem,
but the wrong size and CHKDSK reports are present.
XMSDSK does not seem to have any problem. Their
documentation says both have just one FAT. I set
them with same size and number of sectors/cluster.
