I think you're right on that. For example, Japheth writes on his site that "HX's source code is about 100,000 lines of code", whereas the current RxDOS kernel Assembly source code is only around 35,000 lines (with 10,000 lines of that being only comments, assembler directives, blocks commented out with #IFDEF (NASM %IF) and such).
