All FreeDOS versions use the BIOS for disk access,
S-ATA for harddisks is no problem even for a very
old version of FreeDOS :-). With free open source
drivers such as GCDROM, XGCDROM and UIDE you can
also use S-ATA CD, DVD and similar drives now :-)

Note that you also need SHSUCDX for ISO9660 format
on CD/DVD. For CD/DVD writing (burning) and UDF-
formatted disks as well as DVD-RAM, you will need
further software such as DOSCDROAST :-).

Did anybody already test DOSCDROAST with UIDE or
GCDROM and a S-ATA DVD writer?
