Apparently it's a bit confusing. 2036 was the original build, later renamed "Stable". From this, the 37 build was created, called "Unstable". Both of these were included in FreeDOS 1.0 as well. The current build is 38 "Stable", which is currently based on 36 only. The final 38 release isn't done yet so you can't use this version unless you can compile it yourself or download a snapshot binary from somewhere else (like Rugxulo's pages).
