Hi! Debug versions of kernel.sys produce a lot of technical messages, which might scroll away before you can type them over ;-). Dunno whether a debug version of command com exists, but you can use SHELL=any program, so you can use something more simple instead of command.com to see whether that "shell" is loaded correctly at all.
Of course some apps will be confused if you tell them that they are the command shell, but most should work. > I've successfully managed to find a configurations of parameters > where FreeDOS is crashing before I can use the command prompt. Please describe the parameters again. You can, by the way, use F8 at boot to go step by step through the boot config and autoexec files. This helps for finding out where the freeze happens. You can also use it to skip one or more of the steps, to see whether that avoids the freeze. Eric PS: How would you paste text before command.com is loaded? In dosemu? Possible, but then you can also paste the kernel nondebug boot messages like the drive list, also useful :-) > Perhaps when I paste the results the bug can be found and fixed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SF.Net email is Sponsored by MIX09, March 18-20, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
