Modern BIOSes will support both USB keyboard and USB mouse,
because you would not be able to use them in the BIOS setup
otherwise. Sometimes you will have to enable something like
USB legacy support to activate the built-in drivers of the
BIOS. For DOS, your USB keyboard and mouse will behave as
if they are PS/2, so no special drivers will be needed :-).

Note that while Windows 3.1 in standard mode works well,
FreeDOS has problems with Windows for Workgroups 3.11
and with 386enh mode. You can try the experimental so-
called Winkern(el) of FreeDOS to make WfW 3.11 run. Now
talking about MS DOS 6 USB drivers: You can only use the
first 8 GB of your harddisk in MS DOS 6 (no LBA support)
but if you need USB drivers for DOS, it will not matter
whether you use them in MS DOS or in FreeDOS. Again, for
USB disk / flash stick / cardreader / similar, a modern
BIOS will have built-in drivers. In some cases those will
only be active if you boot from the USB device. If your
BIOS has no suitable drivers, you can use proprietary DOS
drivers like USBASPI with ASPIDISK, DUSE or the drivers
made by Georg Potthast (work in progress).
