Hello Jim and thanks for your reply. I have been getting replies from both the doesmu list and the freedos list - that's why I posted to both.
You have given me a new resource 'xlsfonts' Running it gave me 6,293 lines of fonts, some of which are just different sizes. But many more than I thought were in my Kubuntu. I have fixed the problem of dosemu finding my selected font although I don't really know how I did it. Some combination of: mkfontdir - create an index of X font files in a directory fc-cache -f -v xset - set user preferences for X see xset fp rehash to reset the font paths to current value. Somehow my dosemu with 12x30 easy to read font has re-appeared.
