I'm running a ThinkPad T42, INTEL 1700 Mobile Centrino, 512 mem with XP Pro SP2 fully updated - I'm new at windows, I'm very new at XP.
What I want is ostensible very simple. I just want to boot from CD (T42 has no floppy) into FreeDOS. I downloaded fdbasecd.iso and burned it to a CD. It boots to the menu screen. When I hit <ENTER> to continue I get : Invalid Opcode at 7445 4000 0283 0000 E36E 0000 0000 1B2F 0246 DC00 1B29 7C81 E36E Is this ISO even SUPPOSED to make a boot CD for the use I've described? Better yet, is this the best route to get a faster running DOS program that the XP DOS emulator does? That is, my old DOS program under XP does a VERY delayed reaction thing (sometimes several seconds) with key presses, a problem I never had under the OS/2 emulator. (My old brain can't handle the technicalities of maintaining OS/2 anymore.) I just want to run a DOS program decently without having to dance a jig to do it!! -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Elementary-questions-tf3474344.html#a9696665 Sent from the FreeDOS - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
