Yesterday Arachne was working fine. After that the only thing I did was defragging (Defrag v1.21) drive C and shutting off the computer. Arachne is on drive D which is visible in WinXP ad was defragged from there.  After starting FreeDos a few hours later I'm back to square one: tcp/ip looks ok but web pages won't load. Uninstall/re-install of Arachne didn't solve the problem.

Any ideas are appreciated.

The following two setups worked like a charm yesterday:

###############
Arachne.cfg:

[tcp/ip]
IP_Address 192.168.1.1
IP_Grab IP address set to
NameServer 192.168.1.1
AltNameServer 0.0.0.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
AltGateway 0.0.0.0
Netmask 255.255.255.0
TCPconfig LANTCP.CFG

Lantcp.cfg:

hostname=arachne
sockdelay=40
mss=512

###############
Arachne.cfg

[tcp/ip]
IP_Address WATTCP
IP_Grab IP address set to
NameServer 0.0.0.0
AltNameServer 0.0.0.0
Gateway 0.0.0.0
AltGateway 0.0.0.0
Netmask 0.0.0.0
TCPconfig WATTCP.CFG

WatTcp.cfg

my_ip = 192.168.1.1
netmask = 255.255.255.0
gateway = 192.168.1.1
nameserver=192.168.1.1

###############
Another setup is recommended here:

IP_Address BOOTP

AltNameServer
Gateway 0.0.0.0
AltGateway 0.0.0.0
Netmask 0.0.0.0
TCPconfig LANTCP.CFG

Lantcp.cfg:

hostname=arachne
sockdelay=30
mss=1024
