Mark,

It is my understanding that, as a matter of course, *users* with a 386 or
better processor should indeed go to http://fdos.org/kernel/ but ignore the
offerings on that page and click Directory Listing. From there, English
users like me would download Kernel.sys and cmdxms.HEAD.zip for FreeCOM.
(And a copy of Sys.com if you don't already have it.)

Subject: [Freedos-user] Which are the best kernel and command.com for
modernsystems?

Hello, all:

I've been trying to follow the e-mail updates, but have become rather
confused! :-) What kernel and command.com would be the best bet for
working on most modern computers? I know that I need the patch for
computers without a floppy disk! Should I just grab the development
kernel from http://fdos.org/kernel/?

Thanks very much.

Mark Bailey
