Hi, i've read the docs for like, well pretty many times, and i still
don't get what the f*ck is wrong. It's getting me fairly pissed though.
the diskette installer is currently broken, as the INSTALL program is
missing from it, that's about it.
I plan to correct this before christmas.
If you want to do a manual installation, use UNZIP or TUNZ with the
packages.
type the following at the commandline once you are in the directory
where the *.ZIP/*.LSM files are:
for %x in ( *.zip ) do unzip %x -o c:\fdos
-or-
for %x in ( *.zip ) do tunz %x c:\fdos
and don't forget to copy kernel.sys and command.com to c:\
and SYS C: C: /BOOTONLY
10) It says "Please wait while copying temporary files to harddisk."
Then it fucks up and i get upset...
"Bad command or filename - "a:\freedos\tunz"."
"Bad command or filename - "install.bat"."
that's something I will have to correct. Thanks for reporting it.
In these days, most attention is given to cd-rom like installation types
instead of diskette installation.
On 386+ with a network card, I plan to extend that even more by making
it possible to download the cd-rom image.
c:\TEMP>
End of story and nobody lives happily ever after. (ps. the dir
c:\temp\ is empty)
my apologies. Not 100% tested (quite impossible, btw)
I'll fix this wrong behaviour in the installation procedure, please try
again after Christmas as then a FreeDOS 1.0 preview release will be
available.
