either this is to scare non-technical people away (invalid URL) or you're spending too much time in DOS :)

Both styles work in IE and Firefox. Logs show browsers are how 90% of people get the files. Which reminds me it's time to tally up the July downloads of unique IPs d/l'ing EMM 2.04. Looks like IFRC will get around fifty bucks.

ok, this is clearly a Mozilla Thunderbird (1.06) bug then.

it converts the string you mentioned, being: ftp.devoresoftware.com\downloads\emm386
to: ftp://ftp.devoresoftware.com/downloads/emm386
..which is NOT accepted by neither IE and Firefox browser.

but indeed directly entering
ftp.devoresoftware.com\downloads\emm386

at the browser works, as the browser itself transforms the address into a proper URL before opening it.

No idea how Eudora or Outlook (Express) behave, I just directly click on the email link.
