Hi, there is a new experimental TICKLE version based on suggestions from
Erwin and some new ideas:

http://www.coli.uni-sb.de/~eric/lbacache-tickle-update.zip

The new version combines TICKLE (1k) and TICKLEHD (1.5k) into one
binary (2k). The resident code for harddisk handling is only kept in
RAM if you actually have harddisk (/CHS or /LBA or both) tickling
activated. There is now some help screen (TICKLE /? displays it,
including a version string which I will probably forget to update
when TICKLE gets updated later...). TICKLE now tests for the presence
of a 386/newer CPU and refuses to load if it is already installed
(you cannot modify settings for the loaded instance, and you cannot
unload TICKLE either, sorry). If a MEMDISK floppy is found, it is
excluded from the TICKLE process (because tickling is not useful for
MEMDISK and because MEMDISKs seem to have broken DDPTs...).

I could not test all features (in particular MEMDISK detection),
so it would be great if somebody else could test it... Size in RAM
is 10.5k with and 9.8k without harddisk handling activated, for a
buffer size of 9k.

This version also fixes two bugs: One in the install check (which
is not used by LBAcache itself - LBAcache even blocks the install
check to allow a fresh TICKLE to be loaded after each fresh LBAcache,
I hope that makes sense) and one in the "Weird geometry" error message
(it failed to display the affected drive letter).

So as soon as I get the feedback that the new TICKLE is working okay,
I will put a copy into the current LBAcache download ZIP and take the
abovementioned temporary copy offline again - and update the documentation.

Thanks for testing!

Eric.
