It might be good to keep those programs around, say like DOS 6's forth floppy (was it named "SUPPLEMENT DISK"??) containing various old or, from point of view of the distributor, out-dated programs; in case they might be handy again. e.g. one could exclude VERIFY from FreeCOM. There were others, but I don't remember.
