First, thanks for the quick reply - IT WORKED!
In answer to..
"Please specify "installation starts". This means you succeeded in
installing the complete freedos beta9prerelease4, and are now booting from harddisk?" I have completed running "fdisk" and "format /u /s" to install the boot system on c: drive.
But when I started the install, I had the reported trouble.
I changed my screen mode to "MONO" as instructed by your reply and the installation worked fine, thanks.
Thanks again.

Please specify "installation starts". This means you succeeded in installing the complete freedos beta9prerelease4, and are now booting from harddisk? there are 2 mouse drivers, ctmouse.exe is started by default. please try ctmouse2.exe if that works better for you. emm386 from www.drivesnapshot.de/freedos/emm386x8.zip (try the normal emm3866.exe and himem.exe from that package) as alternative, download UMBPCI from http://www.uwe-sieber.de/files/umbpci_e.zip a listing of the contents of the bootupfiles could have helped a little. if the installation from cdrom crashed, it must have been the GUI installer or mouse driver. in that case, just use the text-installer by selecting MONO as screenmode. hope this helps you, Bernd < |
