To sum up, the migration started by cloning the user data from the old server to the new server. The cloning process failed, big time. But the data on the old server wasn't damaged - it just didn't copy over correctly to the new disk on the new server.
After 90minutes of not getting it to work, Llamacom brought the old server back on-line, and everything is okay. They have scheduled the next migration attempt for the morning of Tuesday, February 10th, at 12:30am CST, for about 2hrs. They will use a different method of cloning the data.

(Not sure what method they used to do cloning, but I prefer rsync.)
