Hi Michael, Thanks for your indications. > 1) > when you access http(s)://myname.pagekite.me you should see exactly the > same as when you access https://freedombox_ip. I tried to simply follow what was written in the examples given under the text fields at Public Visibility (PageKite): Server Domain: pagekite.net (Select your pagekite server (Which is that?). Set "pagekite.net" to use the default pagekite.net server. ) Server port: 80 (Port of your pagekite server (default: 80) ) Kite name: Example: mybox.pagekite.me Kite secret: a_secret I ticked the box with "Enable PageKite" and chose http and https at "Standard Services"... All of the above didn't make the Kite fly :) (http(s)://myname.pagekite.me - server not found). > could you please post (or link to) the content of > /var/log/pagekite/pagekite.log The thing is that I waited for some response to my problem, but than I just started fulling around with settings, custom services, mixed with creating an account to pagekite.net, running pagekite from terminal etc. and now it works, but I don't know anymore what I did, and what actually the freedomox did....so the log is a mess. If u still want, I can link to it, but now (http(s)://myname.pagekite.me works 2. > By sub-kite do you mean subdomains (like myapp.myname.pagekite.me)? > In this case you can use the 'Custom Services' page to set them up -- > but disable the standard services first. Yes, in the PageKite documentation they are referred as "sub-kites" and it can be: for http only: "myapp.myname...." or for http(s): "myapp-myname" . In the "Custom services" one can only set: "Protocol" and ports, but not names, so I don't see how does it work... (I also tried it, but I don't know what ports to choose. the ones i used didn't work) Conclusion: I made it work, but it didn't work from Plinth (I have the last version of 0.9). Even though the interface is simple and nice, it's not yet intuitive. For example: 1.Select your pagekite server (Which is that?). Set "pagekite.net" to use the default pagekite.net server. ) It's confusing, is PageKite running only on Freedombox or do I also need an account at pagekite.net? 2.PageKite - "Custom Servcies"-is it to create a "sub-kite"? how can I enter the name of the sub-kite? Final point, I think Freedombox is an amazing project and I thank the people working on it, I finally can have my own server. The above description is made with constructive feedback in mind...I hope I could do more for the project. One thing that I find tremendously valuable when it comes to usability, is video screen recordings. It only takes 3, 4 minutes (for a knowledgeable person) to record the process of using and creating an account with basic explanations. It's much more accessible for a newbe and much less scary than text documentation.
