To me it is unsuitable for a FreedomBox due to firmware, which is probably UEFI-based if hardware comes from Intel.
Even though UEFI has open sourced the bulk of their codebase, the core drivers from Intel for their board init are still closed source drivers (binary blobs). Hardware controlled by unknown binary blobs of firmware is not a reliable platform for the FreedomBox, IMO. IF Intel and the UEFI Forum were to work with the CoreBoot community to get CoreBoot to act as the Platform Init (PI) layer of UEFI, then CoreBoot would replace the firmware blobs, and we could use an Intel device for a FreedomBox. _______________________________________________ Freedombox-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/freedombox-discuss
