Yes arkOS is great.. At the Internet Identity Workshop #16 in May this year we had a session where we looked at both FreedomBox and arkOS: http://iiw.idcommons.net/Self-Hosted_Personal_Clouds_(FreedomBox_and_Raspberry_PI) <http://iiw.idcommons.net/Self-Hosted_Personal_Clouds_%28FreedomBox_and_Raspberry_PI%29>
But since then I think arkOS has evolved a lot! It's pretty amazing what Jacob is doing. Here's an interview where he talks about the project, and about differences to FreedomBox: http://redecentralize.org/interviews/2013/09/12/05-jacob-arkos.html BTW he is looking for support: https://fund.arkos.io/ Markus On 11/06/2013 08:00 PM, Sean Alexandre wrote: > Here's an interesting project with similar goals: > > arkOS > https://arkos.io/ > > Description: "[is] a Linux-based OS and software stack that allows users to > easily self-host a variety of services from anywhere, giving them > a decentralized alternative to Google/FB/Dropbox et al.
