Dear all, I have had a Dreamplug running since Dec. of 2011 with several interruptions and relocations.
In recent months it has developed a problem of going offline, but does allow me access via SSH sometimes. The pattern seems to be: it runs for a week or so, then drops off Pagekite, https://freedom-seniorexpat.pagekite.me Sometimes I can still see and access it locally. I have had the plug lying horizontally on a table where the ambient temperature is never over 21 C. The strange aspect is (perhaps enlightening for others' benefit): All efforts to reboot it immediately are destined to fail. Only after it has been allowed to cool off for 10-15 minutes will it reboot, and then stay on for another week. One potential problem known to me is that it does not have the proper clock time set on it (3 days off). Perhaps it is defective. Are others experiencing similar heat problems? If many of you are, we should consider changing the hardware for the Freedom Box.
