You realize that, with or without a PSN, your hardware will contain unique IDs like it's network card's MAC address, hard drive serial numbers, etc. And that the unique configuration of hardware which comprises your computer - all of the UUIDs combined with firmware versions, screen resolution, disk sizes, the number and type of devices which are connected, and even which wireless access points are visible - can be combined to make for a VERY strong globally unique identifier.
