I had noticed a warning in the diagnostics about matrix-synapse not being the
latest version. Software update from within FreedomBox didn't upgrade it.
>From Aptitude, I realized that there was an unsatisfied dependenty, so I
upgraded it manually.

Upgrade: python3-rpds-py:amd64 (0.21.0-2+b1, 0.28.0-1)

But then

Dec 15 14:24:27 fbx python3[1781123]: Synapse 1.143.0 needs
typing-extensions>=4.14.1, but got typing-extensions==4.13.2
Dec 15 14:24:27 fbx python3[1781123]: Missing Requirements: typing-extensions
Dec 15 14:24:27 fbx python3[1781123]: To install run:
Dec 15 14:24:27 fbx python3[1781123]: sudo apt install
python3-typing-extensions

so I did as instructed and installed it, but it was apparently already
installed and was marked as manually installed. Ok, so 4.13.2 is
apparently what's installed in the FreedomBox. Is this a case of
matrix-synapse requiring a backport of typing-extensions that isn't there?

How to fix this?

Thanks.

Augustine
