Details:
autogen.sh is unable to detect Python on Ubuntu 16.10 and fails with this
error message:
+ checking for python ...
You must have python installed to compile freeciv.
Download the appropriate package for your distribution,
or get the source tarball at https://www.python.org/
On Ubuntu 16.10 there is a /usr/bin/python3.5 executable, but no
/usr/bin/python.
