Summary: Brief snatch of opening music played when quitting game Project: Freeciv Submitted by: jtn Submitted on: Sun 10 Jul 2016 12:24:09 PM BST Category: client Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: S2_5 r33207 Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: None Planned Release: Contains string changes: None _______________________________________________________ Details: I've noticed it for a while, but for concreteness, I've reproduced it on S2_5 r33207 freeciv-gtk2 with freesounds soundset, starting a single-player game, letting the menu music fade out completely, and then quitting the client (Ctrl-Q). This is just an annoyance for me, but this forum post (dunnoob) <http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=898&p=5202&hilit=music#p5202> suggests it can cause real trouble: > Maybe related, on exit after playing for some time and doing > nothing for hours [S2_6] r32928 <http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=315&p=5145&hilit=32928#p5099> tried to play the intro music, > ending up as hanging (could not really play music while it was > busy to quit, could not really quit while it was busy to play > the intro music.) Feels like how we do UI transitions needs a revamp to solve the class of issues including this and bug #22752. (Maybe a 'freeze' concept would be a quick-ish fix? Not looked at the code recently.) _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://gna.org/bugs/?24844> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ _______________________________________________ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
