Follow-up Comment #1:
For me, the pregame screen (where the "More Game Options..." button is)
disappears as soon as I press "Start" (or its keyboard shortcut), so I can't
see how to try to reproduce this. Is this step slow for you?
The in-game equivalent (Game > Options > Remote Server) doesn't seem to cause
trouble.
