Details:
After updating my Debian system (zlib update probably being the important
part) I were greeted with compiler errors about incompatible assignments.
Apparently you cannot assign gzFile to FILE* any more. Fix attached.
As a compilation fix, I'll commit this to all branches as soon as I have
tested it.
