FreeBSD eu não testei mas ontem participei da quase-instalação do
OpenBSD no EEE de um amigo. Não foi uma instalação "de verdade". Nós
instalamos a partir do CD num pen-drive de 1GB usando o meu computador
e depois fizemos o EEE dar boot pelo pendrive. Não houve problemas,
com esceção de precisar dar boot em modo single e editar o /etc/fstab
para ajustar os nomes dos dispositivos correspondentes ao pendrive.
Não testamos a câmera embutida nem o X. A parte de rede, tando
ethernet quanto WI-FI funcionou.
