I've poked at this a little more, and now I understand. sysutils/xfce4-utils installs files that conflict with xfce4-session, and xfce4-appfinder. Also, the xfce web page for utils seems to be gone, which indicates to me that this bit is discontinued? I'm also confused by the UPDATING entry: 20120526: AFFECTS: users of x11-wm/xfce4 AUTHOR: x...@freebsd.org When upgrading from Xfce 4.8 to 4.10 make sure you uninstall the following ports: misc/xfce4-utils x11-fm/thunar-vfs You may uninstall them before you start the upgrade procedure (preferred) or even afterwards when the upgrade went fine. What I think we should do instead is to remove utils, and say this in UPDATING: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20120617: AFFECTS: users of x11-wm/xfce4 AUTHOR: x...@freebsd.org The misc/xfce4-utils package has been discontinued, and installs files that conflicts with the new versions of misc/xfce4-appfinder and x11-wm/xfce4-session. # pkg_delete -f xfce4-utils-4\* # portmaster misc/xfce4-appfinder x11-wm/xfce4-session ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sound good? I'm also confused by the thunar-vfs entry. I have it currently installed as a dependency of squeeze, for which it's listed as a LIB_DEPENDS.
