Whilst I'm waiting for ath10x support, I purchased a Volans VL-UW30-FD USB dongle[1]. According to the specs, it contains a Realtek RTL8192EU but usbconfig reports: idVendor = 0x0bda idProduct = 0xf192 whilst usbdevs says that a RTL8192EU is product 0x818b.
I tried creating a new product id and adding it to rtwn_devs[]. That was a partial success: rtwn0 on uhub0 rtwn0: <802.11n WLAN Adapter> on usbus1 rtwn0: MAC/BB RTL8192EU, RF 6052 2T2R rtwn0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps rtwn0: 11g rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps rtwn0: 2T2R rtwn0: 11ng MCS 20MHz rtwn0: MCS 0-7: 6.5Mbps - 65Mbps rtwn0: MCS 8-15: 13Mbps - 130Mbps rtwn0: 11ng MCS 20MHz SGI rtwn0: MCS 0-7: 7Mbps - 72Mbps rtwn0: MCS 8-15: 14.5Mbps - 144.5Mbps But attempting to actually use the interface was less successful: wlan0: Ethernet address: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff firmware: 'rtwn-rtl8192eufw' version 111: 31818 bytes loaded at 0xffffffff82663000 rtwn0: rtwn_load_firmware: failed to upload firmware rtwn-rtl8192eufw (error 5) Has anyone bumped into one of these and got it working?
