We've rewritten the umass driver to substantially improve umass interactions.
Since there's little useful information for tracking down and fixing this bug,
I'm going to close it. If there's still an issue in FreeBSD 11 or 12, please
file a new bug for it and cc me so we can get to the bottom of it.
