I stand corrected -- it appears to come with FreeBSD since the 4.x days: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/cvs-all/2003-July/017624.html I've still never heard of it though, and it's not mentioned in the applicable manpages either. But there's an amusing part, too: You posted this exact question on freebsd-questions 1.5 years ago, where you were running FreeBSD 6.1.
