On Fri, Jun 23, 2006 at 07:12:54PM -0300 I heard the voice of
Marc G. Fournier, and lo! it spake thus:
31750 vnode pager pageins
209538 vnode pager pages paged in
15954 vnode pager pageouts
219494 vnode pager pages paged out
This may be something to look at. My workstation (~3.5 day uptime)
has a fraction of that:
7204 vnode pager pageins
37609 vnode pager pages paged in
1 vnode pager pageouts
1 vnode pager pages paged out
Compare to the number of processes spawned (I'm at 10x yours):
28399 fork() calls
1708 vfork() calls
0 rfork() calls
282510 fork() calls
22164 vfork() calls
0 rfork() calls
That sounds like hefty memory pressure.
Which is odd, no, if I'm hardly swapping?
