IIRC I remember seeing some changes to usb > code on it some time post 5.4. Any ways what I did was to get around the problem of it the partition table and/or mbr being screwed up by 6.0 was just use partition magic to convert the ntfs partition to fat32. What this did is it allows me to use the freebsd boot selector.
