According to the Dell PE800 spec sheet (http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pedge/en/800_specs.pdf) it is a "Single embedded Broadcom 5721 Gigabit Ethernet controller".
For the archives, I just wanted to follow up to say that as of December 17, 2004, 5-STABLE recognizes this chipset just fine. Seems to be working great.
