sorry for interruption, am not quite sure that only replace /kernel with
/kernel.old will solve his problem. correct me if am misunderstood.

I agree, read the rest of my email where I have explain a better solution to the problem. Unless I've missed something? Feel free to explain anything that you think I've missed.
