there is a post already on slashdot (posted on april 2, not april
fools' day), confirming the move to freebsd-5.0-current.  here is the

also, i find it hard to believe that a company that supports open
source software and, therefore, the freedom it gives users to choose
whichever software base he/she sees fit, would oppose a move to
freebsd - or any other open source alternative for that matter.

personally, i think that if va blocks slashdot from moving to freebsd
(independently of the story being true or not), it will be a bad
strategic move on their part.
