Hi!

| I'm going to install a new FreeBSD server and I'm looking into an
| Ultra-ATA 100 RAID solution. So far, my searches on Dejanews seem to
| indicate that there are some problems with either installing FreeBSD, or
| booting FreeBSD from a RAID volume.

Søren Schmidt committed a patch for this today.

Look at:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/dev/ata/ata-raid.c

This is cut from the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailinglist:

sos 2000/11/12 12:45:14 PST

  Modified files:
    sys/dev/ata ata-raid.c
  Log:
Only offset raid disks > 1 on the HPT, this should solve the
  boot problems..
However this demands that dangerously dedicated disks use an
offset of at least 10 from the start to not overwrite the
raid config sector on the HPT...

  Revision Changes Path
  1.6 +3 -2 src/sys/dev/ata/ata-raid.c
