It can take from 1 to 5 minutes from pressing eject to actually open the drive.
Is there something I can do to not wait too long for this? Any tuneables or
command to interrupt endless reading?
Perhaps it's GEOM doing multiple "taste" attempts to detetmine logical format
of the media.
Try setting "sysctl kern.geom.notaste=1" temporary.
It seems it helped.
