As you can see I never took the time to actually do it. I also never set the locale to some value suitable for linux, so it may be the case that it is not enough to do this... anyone out there willing to have a look at the gtk/glib code which produces this output? The goal is to have a look how gtk/glib determines if the locale is incorrectly set.
