I don't... FreeBSD is FreeBSD, and BSD is BSD - IMHO it doesn't matter that the people who don't know the difference get confused, if they're interested they'll find out. The versioning model of FreeBSD is good at the moment and I don't think that it matters that we have a version 4.4 or 4.5. If you use 5.0 for something else you'll confuse all of the developers, which is worse IMHO than confusing a few people outside the circle.
