John,Ollivier, I've found the openssl speed tests to be an unreliable measure of comparison. I think you might be better served by comparing the performance of encrypting/decrypting content, such as dd if=/dev/zero bs=1M count=100 | openssl aes-128-cbc -e -pass pass:secretpwd | \ openssl aes-128-cbc -d -pass pass:secretpwd >> /dev/null
