Speaking as the maintainer of the phpmyadmin port, what exactly is the problem you have been experiencing when installing phpmyadmin from ports? I can't say that I remember ever seeing a bug report from you -- and as far as I can tell from the testing I and the ports committers do, the port is working as it should. If you have discovered a problem, please do report it, as there's no way I can fix things if I don't know they're broken.
