I stumbled across this somehow today (don't remember where from unfortunately... I opened it in the background while reading another page and by the time I saw it, I forgot where it came from).

He does a good job (I think) of explaining the problems of why hyperthreading, et al don't help as much as you might think they should (or as much as I think they should).
