I'm using the oss-plugin in xmms, nut I havent really played any wav files
with it. I'll check that out. However winamps surround plug-ins used to work
with all audio formats and mplayer is unable to play a movie with more that
two channel sound output... Btw aren't the oss-plugin and the oss driver two
totally different things?

Yes i now installed the oss driver too and let me tell you that driver is way more advanced then i imagined and they sound excellent, even better then windows.

It truly unlocks everything my soundcard is capable off.

Could you tell me did the oss driver autodetected your sound card or you had to manually select it and if the latter was the case which sound card did you choose, because I installed the oss driver 2 days ago but it didn't detect my card(which as you know is the same as yours) and I did not see it in the list. I thank you in advance for your reply.
