Try the following, in this order: - Reseat the floppy drive cable - Replace the floppy drive cable - Replace the floppy drive - Try a couple of newer/older FreeBSD versions (just the live CD should work fine) or even a different OS such as Knoppix or (heaven forbid) DOS.
