Try to add some lines to your config files: ~/.cshrc: setenv LANG en_US.ISO8859-15 ~/.shrc: LANG=en_US.ISO8859-15 ~/.login_conf: me:\ :charset=iso-8859-15:\ :lang=en_US.ISO8859-15:\ This works for me - if you use german language apps replace "en_US.ISO8859-15" by "de_DE.ISO8859-15". You can find some more infos in 'man setlocale' and 'man environ'. To display your current locale settings use the command 'locale'.
